Sorbet

WHAT I LEARNED

A playful approach to color can create a seismic shift in how materials are perceived and produced.

Pistachio.

Sheets of acrylic were in the unmistakable hue bent and formed into drawer units, bowls, and Sorbetti Sliders – side pieces that slide into the Sorbetti Uprights – to create makeover stations.

After seeing our show, Acrylite met with us to develop their own brand of frosted, colored cast acrylics – by adding a new compound into the base material, rather than sandblasting each piece.

Glow Up.

We pierced holes in the acrylic sheets and used thick rods of clear cast acrylic to create shelf holders, faceouts, and vertical mounts. The reactions from customers inspired us to create the popular Pog System.

Sorbet acrylic evolved into a raw material formula that could be cast or extruded, leading to the creation of the Sorbetti Sliders – introducing a highly customizable element to the system.

Petal Pusher.

The Petal Table in spring green can be raised and lowered easily in the channels of the Sorbetti system.
